Pacific Grove lineman Michael Laredo is named to the Small School All-State First Team; Greenfield running back Fachon Clair is named to the Small School All-State Second Team; Palma linebacker Eric Sobotka is named to the Underclass All-State Second Team.

The Chieftains entered the game ranked 17th in the State while the Eagles came in ranked 64th in So. Cal. The Chieftains lead byQB Chad Bozzo took control of the game early going up 10-0 before the Eagles made a comeback to tie the game up 10-10 at halftime.
