    Notre Dame's Jessica Ross is named the Central Coast Section Freshman Player of the Year by the San Jose Mercury. Notre Dame's Serena Benavente is named 3rd-team All-CCS. North Salinas' Monica Abbott and Jennifer Patterson are named All-CCS honorable mentions.

    With an overwhelming abundance of returning talent, King City is the clear-cut favorite to take yet another MTAL title. Pacific Grove, Santa Catalina, Carmel and Seaside will likely battle for second place and a spot at the postseason table. Greenfield and Gonzales have enough quality returning talent to make a playoff run as well.
