Anaiyah Brown drove in five runs on three hits to lead Monterey Varsity Dores past Hollister 17-2 on Monday. Brown tripled in the fourth inning, scoring three runs, and singled in the sixth inning, scoring three.

Ella Myers struck out 11 batters on the day. The starter also allowed four hits and two runs over six innings while walking none.

A fielder's choice by M Rodriguez put Hollister on the board in the bottom of the first.

A home run to center field by Myers gave Monterey Varsity Dores the lead, 2-1, in the top of the third.

Rodriguez tripled down the right field line following a 6-pitch at-bat, which helped Hollister tie the game at two in the bottom of the third.

Monterey Varsity Dores took the lead in the top of the fourth. Brown tripled, scoring three runs, to give Monterey Varsity Dores the edge, 5-2.

Monterey Varsity Dores scored 12 runs on seven hits in the top of the sixth inning. Ryanna Elliott doubled, scoring three runs, Eastin Jennings singled, scoring one run, Kylie Goud singled, scoring two runs, Brown singled, scoring three runs, Denae Lee doubled, scoring two runs, and an error scored one run.

E Hatchett took the loss for Hollister. The pitcher went five and two-thirds innings, giving up 13 runs (10 earned) on 13 hits, striking out one and walking four.

Monterey Varsity Dores collected 15 hits in the game. Lee, Bella Berry, Taylor Page, Myers, and Jennings each collected multiple hits for Monterey Varsity Dores. Lee paced Monterey Varsity Dores with two walks. Overall, the team had patience at the plate, tallying six walks for the game.

Rodriguez provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led Hollister with two runs batted in. The infielder went 1-for-3 on the day. G Peffley set the tone at the top of the lineup, leading Hollister with two hits in three at bats. Hollister turned one triple play in the game. Peffley stole three bases.
