In Walk-Off, Hollister Varsity Haybalers Lose To King's Academy

Hollister Varsity Haybalers fell to King's Academy 3-2 on Saturday at The King's Academy on the final play of the game. The game was tied at two in the bottom of the ninth when Chaeli Yamakoshi singled, scoring one run.

Both teams were strong in the circle. King's Academy pitchers struck out 18, while Hollister Varsity Haybalers sat down three.

Hollister Varsity Haybalers got on the board in the top of the second inning after Sophia Galindo walked, and Grace Peffley stole home, each scoring one run.

Audrey Bennette scored after tagging up, which helped King's Academy tie the game at two in the bottom of the seventh.

Katia Nesper earned the win for King's Academy. The hurler surrendered three hits and two runs over nine innings, striking out 18 and walking five. Eliana Hatchett took the loss for Hollister Varsity Haybalers. The starter went eight innings, giving up three runs (one earned) on five hits, striking out three and walking two.

Abbigayle Butler, Aleah Ruiz, and Hatchett each collected one hit for Hollister Varsity Haybalers. Peffley paced Hollister Varsity Haybalers with two walks.
