Aleah Ruiz drove in five runs on three hits to lead Hollister Varsity Haybalers past Watsonville 14-2 on Wednesday. Ruiz hit a grand slam to left field in the seventh inning, scoring four runs, and tripled in the first inning, scoring one.

Hollister Varsity Haybalers got on the board in the top of the first inning after Maddy Rodriguez grounded out, Ruiz tripled down the left field line, and Ashlee Io singled to left field, each scoring one run.

Hollister Varsity Haybalers added to their early lead in the top of the second inning after Eliana Hatchett tripled to center field, Grace Peffley singled to center field, and Watsonville committed an error, each scoring one run.

Amelia Martinez took the loss for Watsonville. The starting pitcher went seven innings, allowing 14 runs (13 earned) on 13 hits, striking out nine and walking six.
