Gonzales High boys soccer hosted the Breakers of PG tonight in the second round of league play. Gonzales JV beat PG 3-0 in a game that didn't match the score line. PG had numerous shots on goal but Gonzales goalie was solid an held a shut out result. PG varsity started quickly and earned a penalty kick in the first five minutes. David Oh read the goalie well to put PG up 1-0. Sophomore Jordan Jones scored the final two goals from a gorgeous assist by David Oh and another by Luca Talone. Gonzales scored in the 55th minute to try and turn the games momentum but PG held strong to a 3-1 result. PG is now 8-1-1 overall and 2-0 in league. Big game this Friday night at the Breaker stadium where PG hosts the long term rivals Carmel. This would be the game to get some photos for your Saturday Sports section. PG is hungry for a sporting win against Carmel. Please encourage everyone to come out. We have an open concession stand for warm coffee and coco! JV, 3:30, Varsity at 5:30. |
