Monterey pulled away late Tuesday, scoring four runs in the sixth inning to defeat Alisal 5–1.
Alisal struck first in the opening inning when C. Rubacalva singled to bring home a run. The Toreadores answered in the fourth as Anaiyah Brown launched a solo home run to center field to even the score.
The game remained tied until Monterey erupted in the sixth. Jenna Deese brought in the go-ahead run on a fielder’s choice before Denae Lee added a two-run single and Ryanna Elliott followed with an RBI double to create separation.
Nicole Seal went the distance in the circle for Monterey, allowing just one run on five hits while striking out five. Lee drove in two runs, while Brown, Keira Prakash, Deese, and Elliott each added hits in the win.
