Rancho San Juan Varsity Trailblazers Stymied By King City

Rancho San Juan Varsity Trailblazers couldn't keep up with King City and fell 14-4 on Thursday at 1100 Rogge Road.

Rancho San Juan Varsity Trailblazers got on the board in the bottom of the second inning after Alyssa Hernandez grounded out, and Bella Garcia singled to left field, each scoring one run.

King City captured the lead, 3-2, in the top of the third when Jocelyn Romero doubled, scoring one run, and Crystal Paramo homered to left field, scoring two runs.

Andrea Ruano singled down the right field line, which helped Rancho San Juan Varsity Trailblazers tie the game at three in the bottom of the third.

In the top of the fifth, King City broke up the tie when Paramo tripled, scoring three runs. Then a tag up by Paramo followed to extend the lead to 7-3.

King City scored seven runs on seven hits in the top of the sixth inning. Avery Munoz doubled, scoring one run, Romero doubled, scoring one run, Paramo singled, scoring one run, Janesa Lopez drew a walk, scoring one run, Alizah Carrillo singled, scoring one run, and Munoz doubled, scoring two runs.

Chelsey Misner stepped in the circle first for Rancho San Juan Varsity Trailblazers. The right-handed pitcher surrendered eight hits and nine runs over five and two-thirds innings, striking out seven and walking eight. Carrillo stepped in the circle first for King City. The pitcher gave up 10 hits and four runs over six innings, striking out one and walking seven.
