- 1/19/2004 As Compiled By Cal-Hi Sports Six local players garner All-State honors from the prestigious Cal-Hi Sports publication. San Lorenzo Valley offensive lineman Andy Levitre is named to the Medium School All-State First Team; Watsonville running back Shawn Benjamin, Palma linebacker Patrick Paquin and multipurpose back Luke Lippincott, and Aptos multipurpose back Andrew Ortega are named to the Overall All-State Third Team; Carmel quarterback Pat Johnston is named to the Small School All-State Second Team.

- 12/19/2003 As Compiled by Cal-Hi Sports Palma finishes the season ranked #17 overall in the state, #11 in Division I, and #6 overall in Northern California in the final 2003 Cal-Hi Sports state football rankings. Aptos finishes the season ranked #25 in the state in Division II.

- 11/21/2003 WEEK 10 NOTES Palma edged Hollister 7-6 to win the T-CAL title. Aptos topped Santa Cruz 12-6 to take the SCCAL title and a first undefeated league season in school history. Pacific Grove dominated Carmel 24-0 to take home the "Shoe" and the MTAL title. An Alisal loss, coupled with a North Monterey County win, forced a co-championship in the MBL between the two schools. - 11/11/2003 WEEK 9 NOTES Palma's 27-0 shutout of Live Oak, combined with Hollister's 17-17 tie with Salinas, sets up a regular-season ending T-CAL title showdown with our #1 and #2 ranked teams. Alisal locked up a first-ever playoff appearance with a 10-0 victory over Monterey. Carmel knocked off Stevenson 39-8 to set up an MTAL title tilt in the annual Shoe game with Pacific Grove. Aptos pulled out a 14-8 victory over SLV to remain in control of the SCCAL race.
- 11/5/2003 WEEK 8 NOTES Alisal took a huge step towards ending a 30 year CCS playoff drought by tying North Monterey County 21-21. The Trojans sit atop the MBL by 1/2 game with just 2 games remaining. Gonzales and Carmel combined for 83 points in a 42-41 MTAL slugfest won by the Spartans. Aptos remains in control of the SCCAL with a 21-0 victory over Harbor. Palma and Hollister remain on course for a regular season-ending showdown for the T-CAL title.

Alisal jumped to the head of the MBL standings with a 27-6 victory over Monte Vista Christian. Carmel and Pacific Grove appear to be headed on a "Shoe Game" collision course in the MTAL. Palma and Hollister both remain undefeated in the T-CAL.

The WCAL just completed an impressive 21-4 preseason vs. non-league opponents, with two of the losses coming at the hands of defending national champion De La Salle. Salinas became the 1st southern CCS team to pin a loss on the WCAL this season with a 21-14 victory over Mitty.

Carmel quarterback Pat Johnston throws for 312 yards and 2 touchdowns in the first half vs. Harbor. Plus weekly stat leaders.
