1. MITTY (10-0): The Monarchs handed St. Francis its worst defeat in
school history, 61-7, on their way to winning their first West Catholic Athletic
League title since 1974. Mitty enters the Central Coast Section Division I
playoffs as the No. 1 seed and hosts Watsonville on Saturday at 1 p.m. Last

2. LOS GATOS (10-0): The Wildcats wrapped up their third
consecutive undefeated regular season by beating Saratoga 14-7. Los Gatos begins
its defense of the Division III title against visiting St. Francis at 7 p.m.

3. PALMA (9-1): The Chieftains' bid for an undefeated season ended
with a 10-7 loss to Hollister. Palma enters the Division I playoffs as the No. 2
seed and hosts Milpitas at 7 p.m. Friday. Last rank: 2.
4. SAN LORENZO VALLEY (10-0): The Cougars won their sixth
consecutive Santa Cruz Coast Athletic League title, beating Harbor 26-7 in their
regular-season finale. San Lorenzo Valley, the No. 2 seed in Division III, hosts
Westmont on Saturday at 1 p.m. Last rank: 4.
5. ALVAREZ (8-1-1): The Eagles secured second place in the
Monterey Bay League with a 21-7 victory over Alisal. The Eagles make their
second consecutive playoff appearance, hosting Leigh in a Division II game
Saturday at 1 p.m. Last rank: 6.
6. HOLLISTER (8-2): The Haybalers enter the playoffs with momentum
following their 10-7 victory over previously unbeaten Palma. Hollister begins
its quest to defend its Division II title Friday against visiting Piedmont Hills
at 7 p.m. Last rank: 8.
7. OAK GROVE (8-2): The Eagles forced a three-way tie for the
Blossom Valley Athletic League Mount Hamilton Division title by beating Valley
Christian 26-13. The Eagles, who have made five consecutive appearances in the
Division I final, host Independence at 7 p.m. Friday. Last rank: 7.
8. VALLEY CHRISTIAN (8-2): The Warriors' bid for sole possession
of the BVAL Mount Hamilton Division title fell short with a 26-13 loss to Oak
Grove. Valley Christian enters the Division I playoffs as the No. 3 seed in
Division I and hosts No. 6 Bellarmine at 1 p.m. Saturday. Last rank: 5.
9 (tie). ARAGON (8-0-1): The Dons, co-champions of the
Peninsula Athletic League Bay Division, wrapped up an unbeaten season with
Manase Tonga's 365-yard rushing effort in a 42-14 victory over Hillsdale.
Aragon, the No. 1 seed in Division II, hosts Gilroy at 1 p.m. Saturday. Last

9 (tie). TERRA NOVA (7-1-1): The Tigers, co-champions of
the PAL Bay Division, defeated Half Moon Bay 26-14. Terra Nova, the No. 3 seed
in Division III, hosts Palo Alto at 7 p.m. Friday. Last rank: 9.
11. INDEPENDENCE (9-0): The 76ers wrapped up their first
undefeated regular season with a 49-14 victory over Lick. Independence, the No.
5 seed in Division I, plays Oak Grove at 7 p.m. Friday. It's the first game
Independence has played against a ranked team. Last rank: 11.
12. SALINAS (7-2-1): The Cowboys finished a strong season in the
Monterey Bay League with a 46-20 victory over North Salinas. Salinas, seeded No.
4 in Division II, hosts Wilcox at 7 p.m. Friday. Last rank: 12.
13. BELLARMINE (7-3): The Bells finished the regular season strong
with wins over St. Francis and Riordan to place second in the WCAL. The
sixth-seeded Bells play at No. 3 Valley Christian at 1 p.m. Saturday. Last rank:

14. GUNDERSON (8-2): The Grizzlies wrapped up a perfect record in the
BVAL Santa Teresa Division with a 17-14 victory over Hill. Gunderson, seeded No.
2 in Division IV, makes its first playoff appearance since 1997 when it hosts
Saratoga at 1 p.m. Saturday. Last rank: 13.
15. WILCOX (7-3): The Chargers finished second in the Santa Clara Valley
Athletic League De Anza Division behind Los Gatos, ending their season with a
42-11 victory over Santa Clara. Wilcox, seeded No. 5 in Division II, plays at
Salinas at 7 p.m. Friday. Last rank: Not ranked.
