Week 8 By The Numbers

523 Watsonville amassed 523 rushing yards in a 70-21 dismantling of Mt. Pleasant. Up 42 -15 at  halftime, Watsonville managed to tack another 28 points on the scoreboard to give the Wildcats 10 touchdowns on the night.
320  Harbor quarterback Carlos Hunt threw for 320 yards and 3 touchdowns in a 35-28 victory over Scotts Valley. The two teams combined for 904 yards of offense and 63 points. Both teams averaged over 7 yards per play.
55 San Lorenzo Valley limited Aptos to 55 yards of offense in a 14-3 victory over the visiting Mariners. The win assured the  Cougars of no worse than a co-championship in the SCCAL, and an impressive 7th straight league title. 
10 Watsonville place-kicker Eric Tapia converted all 10 extra point attempts last Friday night, giving him 40 for  the season.
7 North Salinas running back Ronnie Drummer has 7 scoring plays of 40+ yards: touchdown runs of 65, 44, 44, 44, 51 and 41 yards, plus a kickoff return of 87 yards.
6 Watsonville running back Shawn Benjamin scored 6 rushing touchdowns in a 70-21 victory over Mt. Pleasant.
6 After starting the season 0-2, Seaside has rebounded with 6 consecutive wins and now holds the inside track to the MBL title.
2 Salinas defensive back Travis Dozier picked off another 2 passes in a 35-0 victory over Live Oak, giving him 6 picks in his last two games.
1 The number of undefeated quad-league area teams is down to 1: San Lorenzo Valley.
