Week 2 Notes and Key Stats
|
- Last week it was the TCAL vs. the
Pac-5; this week it is the TCAL+ taking on the powerful West
Catholic League. The San Jose Mercury's #2 (Mitty) and #3 (Salinas)
ranked teams collide at the PIT for what is being billed as
one of the top CCS games of the year. Saturday, Palma travels up the
peninsula to take on Serra, and Alvarez is hosting Riordan.
|
- Carmel kicker James
Gillette put several very
impressive kickoffs through the back side of the end zone,
eliminating the dangerous Seaside special teams as a factor in the
game.
|
- Many thanks go out to the SLV
football coaching staff for their enthusiastic support of this site.
Assistant Coach Dave Poetzinger
came up with the idea of adding a new Playoff
History/Program Info section, now available for every
school. Send us your program history/school records/individual
records and we will add them for your school. Thanks go out to Aptos
Athletic Director Mark Dorfman for all the recent Mariner
updates. Thanks also to Hollister Freelance Sports Editor John
Reid for his Baler updates, and also a very special thanks to
freelance correspondent Mario Estrada Jr. (MrDrinkMan) for
his fine coverage of the Salinas/Atascadero game.
