2000-2001 Individual Softball Honors for the
Monterey Bay League

Fryou pitched every inning for the Condors, tossing 22 complete games, seven shutouts and three no-hitters. Fryou finished league play with a 0.96 Earned Run Average, striking out 120 during the 2001 MBL campaign.

Named Monterey Bay League Most Valuable Player. Named by the Monterey County Herald as the Monterey County Softball Player of the Year. Named by the Salinas Californian to the All Monterey County Softball Team.

One of 2001's most dominant pitchers, Abbott fired 10 shutouts and 4 no-hitters. Abbott struck out 344 batters on the season. In league play, Abbott compiled a 10-1 record with 154 strikeouts, allowed only 10 walks, with an Eaned Run Average of 0.25. At the plate, Abbott batted .394, third best in the MBL, adding a triple, 3 doubles and 10 RBI's.

Munoz did an outstanding job catching one of the area's hardest throwers, Monica Abbott. Munoz finished league play with a .308 batting average, the 8th best in the MBL, to go along with 2 doubles and 7 RBI's.

Named by the San Jose Mercury News as the Central Coast Section Player of the Year. Named to the National Fastpitch Softball Coaches All-American second team.


Lindsay SchutzlerThird BaseSophomore
All Monterey Bay League selection. Named to the All Monterey County Softball Team by both the Salinas Californian and the Monterey County Herald.

Schutzler led the Monterey Bay League in hitting with a .522 average, scoring 37 runs and stealing 16 bases from the leadoff spot for Notre Dame.

All Monterey Bay League selection. Named to the All Monterey County Softball Team by both the Salinas Californian and the Monterey County Herald. Named by Cal-Hi Sports Magazine to the All State team, all divisions. Named by Cal-Hi Sports Magazine as the small school State Player of the Year, and to the All State small school division team. Named to the National Fastpitch Softball Coaches All-American team.

Selbicky was a starter on four Notre Dame CCS Division III championship teams. With few teams pitching to her, Selbicky batted .377, had 5 triples, 10 doubles, 2 homeruns, and drove in 34 runs. Selbicky set school career records for homeruns (22), extra base hits (82), and RBI's (136). Selbicky signed a letter of intent to play softball for Fresno State University.


Erin SigalaPitcherJunior
All Monterey Bay League selection. Named by the Salinas Californian to the All Monterey County Softball Team. Named by Cal-Hi Sports Magazine to the All-State small school division team.

Sigala finished the year 15-2, surrendering only two earned runs for a 0.12 ERA. Sigala struck out 208 batters in 118 innings pitched. She pitched 11 complete games, throwing 9 shutouts and 4 no-hitters. At the plate Sigala batted .308 with 5 doubles, three triples and 22 RBI's.


Salinas
Page ElliotCatcherSenior
All Monterey Bay League selection. Named to the All Monterey County Softball Teamby the Salinas Californian.

A defensive standout behind the plate, Elliot commited only 3 errors on the season. At the plate Elliot batted .284 on the season, with a .317 average in league play. She ended the season with 4 doubles, a triple, 3 multi-hit games and 6 RBI's
