The St. Francis Central Coast Sharks defeated the Calvary Chapel Warriors at the Borrina Athletic Center 67-9. The Sharks broke out to an early 11 -0 lead in the first three minutes of the game and JV Coach Megan Work, standing in for Head Coach Bob Winters, had the Sharks slow the game down. The Sharks finished the half up 27 - 5 on forward Erin Laverone's 4/5 from the floor and 2/3 shooting from the line. St Francis shot 66% from the floor and 63% from the line during the game, improving on prior poor performances in both categories.

For St. Francis: Freshman Center Katherine brown led all scorers with 20 points and 12 rebounds, Junior Forward Erin Laverone took in her first double-double of the season scoring 14 points and taking in 10 rebounds, Sophomore Forward/Wing Annette Ruvalcaba had 6 points, 10 rebounds and 2 steals, Freshman Guard Rochelle Welsh had 8 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assists and 4 steals, St Francis' two point guards, Jr. Jessica Ryan and Sophomore Jasmine Oliveres each had 5 assist and 2 steals and combined for 10 points. For the Warriors Page King had 5 points, Sandra Gattos had 3 and Chrisalen Sirek had 1 point.The Sharks improved their record to 5 wins against 3 losses.

The Sharks final pre-season game will come against the Salinas Cowboys on December 22 at 5:30 PM in Salinas. The Cowboys are ranked #4 in the Tri-County area by the Monterey Bay Prep report.
