Alisal Notes and Quotes
The Alisal Boys' Soccer Team walked away with a hard-fought tie against Yerba Buena on Thursday night. The Trojans took the lead in the first-half on a goal from senior Lalo Avalos. However, a few mistakes on Alisal's part proved costly as the Warriors tied the game with a minute to go before the half. The Trojans came out hungry in the second half and took the lead once more on a superb finish from sophomore Willy Miranda. But it was de ja vu all over again when, with three minutes to go until the final whistle, another costly Trojans mistake allowed Yerba Buena to get the equalizer. The game finished in a 2-2 tie. The Trojans are in action tomorrow, December 10, as they go against Prospect from Saratoga in the final game of group play in the Oak Grove Gold Cup in San Jose. Alisal will try to finish as group leaders and play in the Oak Grove Gold Cup Championship next Saturday, Dec. 17. Tomorrow's kick-off is at 5:00 p.m.
