PG came out strong and dominated the first 25 minutes with 4 scoring chances. A strong Soledad defense prevented PG's John Sohn and Peter Lee from scoring. A tremendous goal from Juan Jose Ortiz, from within the box and a sharp angle, put the Aztecs ahead 1-0 after 30 minutes. From there on, the Aztecs dominated the folllowing 30 minutes and scored after 10min into the 2nd half after many backandforth passes in front of PG's goal. Oscar Mimientzi scored the 2nd goal. Both teams fought hard and were evenly matched. Both goalies recorded 11 saves. "I'm proud of how the team played tonight. They fought for every ball and made very few mistakes. Soledad had 4 solid chances and capitalized on 2 of them with 2 great shots. The MTAL's best defensive teams played an even match vs. Soledad, but the league's best player (Aztecs' Ortiz) made the difference," - coach Haraldsvik said. PG plays RLS next on Thursday at 3:30pm away. |
