The Saint Francis Central Coast Catholic Sharks women's varsity basketball team defeated the Everett Alvarez Eagles 64- 27 at the Borrina Athletic Center on Tuesday night. The Sharks were led by Freshman center Katherine Brown who had 17 points, 17 rebounds and 4 blocks, Sophomore Annette Ruvalcaba who had 13 points, 7 rebounds and 5 steals and Junior Erin Laverone who had 9 points, 10 rebounds, 3 blocks and 2 steals. Also scoring for the Sharks was Jessica Ryan 8 points, Nicole Smith 8 points, Rochelle Welsh 7 points, and Jasmine Oliveres with 2 points. For the Eagles Oxford had 8 points, VanWinning 7 points and Madris 4 points. The Sharks appear to have overcome their early season problems at the free throw line sinking 68%. The Sharks final pre-season test comes on Thursday night when they travel to Salinas high for a 7:00 pm game.
