St. Francis S.C.P. Notes and Quotes
Coming off a big win at Harbor, the St. Francis Central Coast Sharks Women's varsity basketball team were brought back to earth on Wednesday night by the Soquel Knights, and specifically by Lauren and Hannah Passafuime. Hannah Passafuime had 17 points, 5 rebounds and three steals to lead all scorers, Lauren Passafuime was next with fifteen points, 7 steals, 3 blocks and 5 rebounds. The Sharks were led by Sophomore Annette Ruvalcaba who had 13 points, 4 assists, 3 steals and 3 rebounds, Freshman Katherine Brown had thirteenth double-double of the season, scoring 10 points, 16 rebounds and 2 blocks. This was her lowest point total since the opening game of the season. Also for the Sharks, Junior Nicole Smith and Freshman Rochelle Welsh had 4 points, Junior Jessica Ryan had 3 points and 3 assists and Junior Erin Laverone had 2 points, 10 rebounds and a 1 steal. The highlight for the Sharks was that they out rebounded the Knights 37 - 36. But the Knights stingy defense and fast breaks were just too much for the young Sharks, who at one time had 1 junior, 2 sophomores and 2 freshman on the floor against 4 seniors and 1 sophomore for the Knights.

The Sharks will face the Scott's Valley Falcons at the Borina Athletic Center, Friday night at 5:30PM.
