Santa Catalina School Notes and Quotes
It was back to total Cougar domination today: Great passing, solid finishing and an almost impenetrable defense. Although only 4 - 0 at the half, the Cougars had hit the post twice and barely missed finishing on three more occasions. With Jackie injured from yesterday, and Sarah sick, the line up was changed a little with Dixie partnering Blair at center mid, Stephanie starting in the right back position, and Kendra in charge of the left flank. In the first 40 minutes Kendra earned a goal and two assists, Dixie had three shots, Blair was on fire with two goals and two assists, and Daniela had a goal. Not much to say at the halftime talk except “good work, keep it up!”

Dixie opened the scoring in the second half. Then it was Daniela quickly earning her hat-trick. Her third goal was from an amazing spinning turn that beat everyone! Kate took charge of the scoring with goals in the 68th and 73rd minutes, and Kendra put the final one away in the 76th minute.

Isabelle and Laura anchored the Cougar back four and were instrumental in giving Gen very little to do! Everyone had a lot of playing time and all made a significant contribution to our success today. It was great to see the freshmen playing with more and more confidence with each subsequent game. It is always a building process, and there are some big shoes to fill for next year, but the future looks bright!

Four more games to go this season before playoffs. Now the Cougars are beginning thinking not just in terms of possibly our fifth league championship in a row, and also our fourth undefeated league season in row; but now our first season with all W’s! Some tough games still to play . . . . . .!

GO COUGARS!
