The Cougars took charge immediately with Blair having a shot in the 1st minute. Four more shots came across the Spirits goal until Daniela and Kate worked the ball through to Blair in the 10th minute to open the scoring. Eliza was having a great game attacking down the right flank and delivering cross after cross. The cougar back line quickly destroyed the few Spirit’s forays into our side of the field. Stephanie was stepping up to the plate with some excellent work on the right back after stepping in for an injured Laura. The Cougar midfield and strikers hammered the Spirit’s goal for another 30 minutes. Finally they found a way through their opponents with Daniela receiving a pass from Kate to make it 2 – 0 right at the end of the half.

The Spirit’s came out strongly in the first minutes of the second half, forcing Gen’s only save of the game. After a couple of minutes the Cougars once again took control and spent 80% of their time in the Spirit’s half. In the 54th minute Jackie fed a fine ball to Kate to make it 3 – 0. Eliza was finally rewarded for all her hard work in the 68th minute, aggressively following the attack to the far post where she was able to put away Daniela’s deflected shot.
