The SCCAL game was played at Depot Field in Santa Cruz under cloudy rainy skies and wet field conditions. The first half started with both teams trying to control the ball on the wet field. Santa Cruz then scored in the 68th minute when junior Miguel Gutierrez scored after an assist from senior Gerardo Hernandez. In the 75th minute Santa Cruz senior Edwin Chavez scored a goal after the assist from senior Shakaim Redrovan. St. Francis had 0 shots on goal the second half while Santa Cruz had 10 shots on goal. The defense did a fantastic job stopping the St. Francis attack, settling the ball and starting the offensive attack for Santa Cruz. The defense had 4 steals and was lead by senior captain Trevor Ross, senior Vince Cheung (FB), freshman Slater Meehan (FB) and freshman Giovanni Giattino (stopper) who all had a great game. The Santa Cruz offensive attack was again relentless with their pressure on the St. Francis defense. The forwards were senior Cesar Aguilar, senior Edwin Chavez and freshman John Chronopoulos.
