Greenfield vs Santa Catalina 2/3/2009 The Cougars cruised to a straightforward victory over Greenfield. With some very tired legs from yesterday’s match against Stevenson, everyone had the opportunity to get lots of playing time. Kate was at the Greenfield goal in barely over a minute, but took until the 6th minute to find the net off a great through ball from Seaira. Then within seconds of Greenfield kicking off, April won the ball at the half and worked it deftly to goal to make it 2-0! Daniela had a chance in the 10th minute before combining with Kate in the 12th minute to make it 3-0. The Cougars continued the rest of the half with 10 more shots, but could not find the back of the net. Greenfield opened the second half with a lot of energy, getting a shot off in the 44th minute. The Cougars decided that one opportunity each half was all that they were going to allow, and took charge of the game, firing off a total of 15 shots on the Greenfield goal! Blair headed in a magnificent goal in the 53rd minute off a great cross from Kate. Daniela made it a brace in the 77th minute after April and Kate combined to feed her the ball. The forecast for Thursday is predicting a tough and exciting match against King City – kick-off 3:00pm at Santa Catalina – BE THERE! |
