Santa Catalina School Notes and Quotes
From the moment the referee blew the whistle for the kick-off, the Cougars took charge, dominating possession for almost all of the game. Sarah Wright, in goal for the first half touched the ball twice. In the second half, Maggie Cleary assumed control of the Cougar goal, and she too only managed a couple of touches on the ball. Neither goalkeeper made any actual saves. 10 other players were always doing their job to deny York any realistic opportunity on the Cougar goal!

A new, but solid back four consisting (at various times) of Laura Wright, Dixie Cessa, Sarah Luksik, Maggie Cleary Vita Burn and Isabelle Williams, dealt effectively with the infrequent penetrating attack from York.

The Cougar midfield with (at various times) Blair Evans, April Campos, Jackie Gollette, Danielle DeMaria, Daniela Aiello, Isabelle Williams and Dixie Cessa did a fantastic job of controlling most of the game.

Up top in the striker positions, Kate Wright, Daniela Aiello and Sarah Wright created endless headaches for the York defense.

The Cougars recorded 30 shots on the York goal, 10 of them giving us goals.

Definitely not the challenge the Cougars were needing, but certainly a confidence booster!
