The second half opened with the Cougars looking a little tired. Notre Dame pounced on this and took charge, scoring 3 minutes into the half. The Cougars struggled to keep pace with the superior fitness of Notre Dame, and yeilded a second goal in the 33rd minute. The Cougars rallied putting enormous pressure on the Notre Dame goal until the final whistle, but had to concede their first defeat of the season.

Everyone agreed it was a valiant effort against a fair competitor with solid officiating.
