Salinas and North Monterey County were both playing without numerous starters due to vacation trips over the break. North County only had 12 players and Salinas was down to 14. The first goal by North County was scored off of a deflection from the defender that rose over the keeper and found the back of the net. Salinas then responded on a corner kick from Adrian Moreno that was sent far post to Chris Pinto who headed the ball into the back of the net. Salinas took the lead on a goal by Raul Quintana when Francisco Maderos split the Condor defense on a pass and found Quintana. North County scored the tying goal late in the game on a shot that the keeper dropped and then was deposited in the back of the net to level the game at 2 apiece.

Adrian Moreno played very well in filling in for the absent sophmore Isaias Abonce (all-league last year).

Valentino Reyes recorded 4 saves as Salinas outshot north county 10-5.

Salinas's Ben Vargas, Frankie Monsivias and Larry Pinto all helped to keep North County's potent offense in check for the majority of the game.
