| On a rainy afternoon the Cougars came out quickly with Meredith putting shots on goal, but Carmel's keeper held firm. Around 20 minutes into the game, the rain stopped, a rainbow appeared and a pass from Danielle found April in front of the goal to open the scoring. Ryann assisted April in the 33rd minute. then scored herself in the 37th minute with an assist from Sarah Luksik. After shutting out the first half, Sarah Wright came out strongly in the second half, scoring in the 43rd minute from Meredith's pass. After 2 more sttepts on goal, she needed to come off due to a possible pulled quadricep. In the 54th minute Katie scored an incredible goal directly off a freekick from 35 yards! Blair scored in the 58th minute assisted by Katie, and Kate Wright finished off the scoring with a goal in the 73rd minute. Our backs did a great job to close down any attack from Carmel, and really made the shut-out, allowing no direct shots on our goal. |
