Palma played an all out offensive style of play and created some very exciting chances, but could not find the back of the net. And when they did get close, Alisal's Alejandro Amezucua made three great saves. The defense, led by Dylan Lee, Max Cuevas, and Raul Alfaro paid the price for the attacking strategy, but played the "offsides trap" smartly and ran down the Alisal forwards when it didn't work. Palma Keeper Stephen Dotseth made some very bold decisions in support of the offsides trap tonight, travelling way out of the box to clear balls played long by Alisal, and all but two of them paid off; very decisive play. A tough result, but the boys played well. On the sidelines tonight, former Palma Captain, Leo Camargo ('99). JV: Alisal 2; Palma 0 |
