Palma's goal tonight was to out hustle Alvarez and win every 50-50 ball; all three goals were the result of hustle; in the 79th minute, Matt Ostarello ran hard to save a ball on the line, dribbled deep and crossed the ball into the box where Cesar Martin unintentionally redirected toward the goal. Luke Paulo's two first half goals were the result of not quitting on the ball in the box. Palma's defense (Dylan Lee, Max Cuevas, Andrew Reveles, and Raul Alfaro) held a solid first line holding Alvarez to 7 shots-on-goal all night and forcing several outside shots off goal. Alvarez came out in the second half with a lot of intensity; Palma withstood the first 6 minutes, and then Alvarez turned it up a notch again and continued to play hard throughtout the second half. Palma overcame a few challenges this evening: *Ross Majewski: Flu *Luke Paulo: Sprained Ankle *Raul Alfaro: Root Canal *Silvano Botta: Twisted Ankle Palma's first ever win over Alvarez.
