Santa Catalina Rallies In Wild League Opener To Defeat Pajaro Valley 22–18

Santa Catalina opened league play with a dramatic comeback Wednesday, rallying from a four-run deficit to defeat Pajaro Valley 22–18 in a back-and-forth season opener.

Pajaro Valley jumped ahead early with a four-run first inning, but Santa Catalina answered immediately and the two teams traded big innings throughout the game. The Cougars took control during a seven-run fourth inning before pushing across the decisive runs in the fifth to grab the lead for good.

Isabella Jodlowski led Santa Catalina at the plate with three RBIs and two hits, while Olivia Sims added a key RBI single during the go-ahead rally. The Cougars showed patience throughout the game, drawing 17 walks and aggressively attacking the bases to create scoring opportunities.

Adele Ramirez earned the win in the circle as Santa Catalina survived the high-scoring battle to open both the season and league play with a victory.
