| North Salinas Breaks Through Late to Defeat Mountain View 3–0 Runs were hard to come by Saturday, but North Salinas delivered when it mattered most to secure a 3-0 victory. The Vikings broke a scoreless tie in the fifth inning when Iliana Perez drew a bases-loaded walk to bring in the first run. Clarissa Corona followed with a two-RBI single to provide all the offense in the decisive frame. Perez was sharp in the circle, striking out seven over four shutout innings while allowing just two hits before exiting with the game still 0-0. Audri Palmer handled the final two innings as North Salinas preserved the shutout. Corona drove in two runs, while Perez and Kymberly Deguzman each recorded extra-base hits as the Vikings combined timely hitting with strong pitching to close it out. |
