Soledad earned an 11–5 win Tuesday behind a breakout performance from freshman Lucia Pinedo.
The Aztecs struck first in the fourth on a dropped third strike, and after Greenfield tied the game in the bottom half, Soledad quickly regained control.
In the fifth, Maria Villarruel singled in a run, Cayden Lopez tripled to drive in two, and Pinedo added an RBI single to extend the lead.
Soledad broke the game open in the sixth. Mia Meza lifted a sacrifice fly, Margo Quezada drew a bases-loaded walk, and Pinedo delivered the biggest swing of the inning — a three-run double.
Pinedo also handled business in the circle, working six innings with eight strikeouts. She went 3-for-4 at the plate with three RBIs in a strong freshman debut.
The Aztecs totaled 10 hits and created constant pressure on the basepaths, swiping 15 bases as a team to secure the win.
