Alyssa Padilla was a tough out all afternoon, collecting three hits to help lead St. Frances to a 6–1 victory over Anzar on Friday.
Valerie Ballesteros dominated in the circle, striking out 13 while allowing just four hits and one run over six and one-third innings without issuing a walk. The Sharks first broke through in the second inning when Valeria Moran grounded out to bring home a run.
Anzar briefly tied the game in the fourth on a passed ball, but St. Frances responded in the fifth when Bella Vargas doubled to put the Sharks back in front.
Padilla, Vargas, and Ballesteros each finished with three hits as St. Frances totaled 12 hits in the win while also turning in a clean defensive effort in the field.
