Pacific Grove delivered another big offensive performance Wednesday, defeating Soledad 18–4 behind a strong day at the plate from Destiny Buckles.
Buckles drove in four runs on three hits, including an RBI single in the first inning that helped the Breakers jump out to an early lead. Pacific Grove continued to apply pressure throughout the game and blew it open with a seven-run sixth inning highlighted by Lyvia Maciel’s two-run double and a two-run single from Kendra Pottharst.
Maciel also handled the work in the circle, earning the win after allowing four runs over six innings while striking out six.
The Breakers finished with 16 hits, led by three-hit performances from Buckles and Maciel. Maciel drove in six runs, while Pottharst and Grace Pottharst added multiple hits as Pacific Grove’s offense stayed hot.
