In the season opener for both teams, Los Gatos erupted for 16 hits in an 11-1 victory over Scotts Valley on Monday.
Grace Tucker drove in four runs on three hits, highlighted by a two-run triple in the third and a two-RBI single in the sixth.
Olivia Sickels set the tone at the top of the lineup, going 4-for-5 with three doubles as the Wildcats broke it open with a five-run third inning. Danica DeSantis later added a two-run homer to cap the scoring.
Ava Norquist tossed three scoreless innings to start, and DeSantis handled four in relief as Los Gatos paired dominant offense with error-free defense to begin the season.
