Aptos High Varsity Softball closed the gap by scoring on a double, an error, and a pop out. Westmont Varsity Warriors jumped out to the lead in the bottom of the third inning after Sophia Burich singled, scoring one run, Mya Najera-White induced Melia Andrade to hit into a fielder's choice, but one run scored, and Lucky Felder homered to right field, scoring three runs. Regan Steele earned the win for Westmont Varsity Warriors. The pitcher surrendered seven hits and three runs (two earned) over seven innings, striking out nine and walking one. Najera-White took the loss for Aptos High Varsity Softball. The hurler went six innings, giving up five runs on eight hits, striking out one and walking three. Gwen Vaca went 2-for-4 at the plate and led the team with one run batted in. Aptos High Varsity Softball turned one double play in the game. Westmont Varsity Warriors piled up eight hits in the game. Kristen Johiro and Andrade each collected two hits for Westmont Varsity Warriors. Felder went 1-for-3 at the plate and led the team with three runs batted in. |
