Madyson Jade Quintanilla collected three hits in three at bats, as South San Francisco Varsity Warriors defeated Soledad Varsity Aztecs 11-1 on Wednesday at MacDonald High School. Quintanilla tripled in the third inning, doubled in the first inning, and singled in the second inning.

Soledad Varsity Aztecs were the first to get on the board in the first when Maria Villarruel singled, scoring one run.

South San Francisco Varsity Warriors flipped the game on its head in the bottom of the first, scoring five runs on three hits to take the lead, 5-1. The biggest blow in the inning was a double by Miley Salvatore that drove in three.

South San Francisco Varsity Warriors added one run in the second. Maggie Bergesen singled down the left field line, making the score 6-1.

South San Francisco Varsity Warriors added to their early lead in the bottom of the third inning after Quintanilla tripled down the right field line, and Sydney Semans singled to center field, each scoring one run.

Semans earned the win for South San Francisco Varsity Warriors. The starter surrendered six hits and one run (zero earned) over five innings, striking out one and walking none. Delylah Ocampo took the loss for Soledad Varsity Aztecs. The starting pitcher went four and one-third innings, giving up 11 runs (nine earned) on nine hits, striking out two and walking six.

Semans went 2-for-4 at the plate and led the team with three runs batted in. Salvatore collected two hits for South San Francisco Varsity Warriors in two at bats. Quintanilla stole two bases. South San Francisco Varsity Warriors worked the count all day, piling up six walks. South San Francisco Varsity Warriors turned two double plays in the game.

Villarruel went 1-for-2 at the plate and led the team with one run batted in. Leadoff hitter Aubrey Esparza led Soledad Varsity Aztecs with two hits in three at bats.
