Pitching Impressive As Gilroy Varsity Mustangs Beat Scotts Valley Varsity Falcons

Both teams were strong in the circle on Saturday, but Gilroy Varsity Mustangs defeated Scotts Valley Varsity Falcons 3-1. Ariela Yslava started the game for Gilroy Varsity Mustangs and recorded 21 outs.

Yslava struck out 13 batters on the day. The starter also surrendered one hit and one run over seven innings while walking three.

A double by Andrea Alvarez put Gilroy Varsity Mustangs on the board in the bottom of the third.

Gilroy Varsity Mustangs scored one run in the bottom of the sixth on a solo home run to center field by Bam Mendoza on an 0-2 count.

Sofie Seese stepped in the circle first for Scotts Valley Varsity Falcons. The lefty surrendered five hits and three runs over six innings, striking out four and walking two.
