Scotts Valley Varsity Falcons beat San Lorenzo Valley Varsity Cougars 5-2 on Thursday.

San Lorenzo Valley Varsity Cougars got on the board in the top of the second inning after Abi Krepelka singled to center field, and Olive Colby grounded out, each scoring one run.

Scotts Valley Varsity Falcons captured the lead, 5-2, in the bottom of the fourth after Jazzy Doubek singled to center field, Chloe Kent singled to center field, Natalie Murray-Skalland singled to the left side of the infield, and Nick Powell hit a sacrifice fly, each scoring one run.

Sofie Seese earned the win for Scotts Valley Varsity Falcons. The starting pitcher gave up six hits and two runs over seven innings, striking out five and walking one. Grace Purtscher took the loss for San Lorenzo Valley Varsity Cougars. The right-handed pitcher went six innings, giving up five runs (four earned) on seven hits, striking out six and walking two.

Doubek led Scotts Valley Varsity Falcons with two hits in three at bats. Powell, Kent, Doubek, and Murray-Skalland each drove in one run for Scotts Valley Varsity Falcons.
