Emma Burgueno’s Clutch Hitting Propels Aptos High Varsity Softball To Victory Over Harbor Varsity Pirates Emma Burgueno drove in four runs on two hits to lead Aptos High Varsity Softball past Harbor Varsity Pirates 10-0 on Tuesday. Burgueno hit a home run to center field in the first inning, scoring two runs, and doubled in the second inning, scoring two. Mya Najera-White struck out 14 batters on the day. The starter also surrendered zero hits and zero runs over six innings while walking one. Aptos High Varsity Softball got on the board in the bottom of the first inning after Nova Neu singled, scoring one run, and Burgueno homered to center field, scoring two runs. A double by Burgueno extended the Aptos High Varsity Softball lead to 5-0 in the bottom of the second inning. Aptos High Varsity Softball added three more runs in the bottom of the fifth inning on four hits. Kailani Aguayo hit a solo home run to right field, and an error scored two runs. Hana Pomrantz led things off in the circle for Harbor Varsity Pirates. The hurler gave up 13 hits and 10 runs (six earned) over five and one-third innings, striking out two and walking one. Aptos High Varsity Softball amassed 13 hits in the game. Lilly McGee went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Aptos High Varsity Softball in hits. Bailey Fulton collected two hits for Aptos High Varsity Softball in four at bats. Aptos High Varsity Softball were sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error.
