| In an non-league game tonight, PG hosted Monterey. PG went out strong and had 5 solid scoring chances by John Sohn, but Monterey held off. PG dominated the first 15 but then Monterey responded. With their first 2 shots on goal, Monterey went up 2-0 after 2 beautiful shots by Garrett Weimhemer and Luis Ballerteros...and dominated the next 15 minutes before PG took control again. In the 2nd. Half, a motivated PG team took control, led by their captain and the game's best player, Matt Spade. Matt had 2 goals after 20 minutes, both un-assisted shots from 30 and 38 yards. 10 Minutes later, Tariq Ahmad (freshman), won the game with a nice lob over the MRY goalie. PG won 3-2 and is now 5-2 (4-2 in MTAL) |
